[Medals] FRANCE. Constantius I, as Caesar. 20th century. Gilt Medal (39mm, 18.31 g, 12h). Liberation of London. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Constantius on horseback right, holding spear, approaching London kneeling in supplication before city gate; below, galley sailing right. Cf. P. Bastien, Le Tresor de Beaurains (dit d’Arras), 218. VF. Cast from the extant electrotype of the now lost medal from the Arras Hoard, discovered in 1922. Important historical type. ($300)
